Effective 22 October 2026 · v1.3, superseding v1.1.1 of 10 October 2026 · PANOPT (panopt.online)
PANOPT (the website at panopt.online and the PANOPT apps) is run and sold by Joe Hedger, trading as Panopt Alpha, ABN 15 540 058 234, Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia ("we", "us"). PANOPT is the name of the service. These terms are the agreement between you and us. They apply when you use PANOPT, and you accept them when you create an account or buy a plan. For these terms, write to admin@panopt.online; for help with your account or a payment, support@panopt.online.
Not financial advice. PANOPT is a news-intelligence and market-information tool. Nothing in this service — alerts, scores, analyses, briefs, ledgers, or any other output — is investment advice, a recommendation, or an offer to buy or sell any financial instrument. Markets involve substantial risk of loss. Make your own decisions and consider advice from a licensed professional.
Everything PANOPT publishes is general information prepared without taking into account your objectives, financial situation or needs, and nothing on the service is tailored to you. PANOPT's market reads ("bullish", "bearish", "market lean", technical reads, conviction scores, support and resistance levels and the brief's bias) are dated statements of how the chart and the news look at the time shown. They are not price forecasts, and they are never an instruction or suggestion to buy, sell or hold anything. PANOPT does not hold an Australian Financial Services Licence and does not provide financial product advice, dealing, or any other financial service. Before acting on any information, consider its appropriateness to your own circumstances and seek advice from a licensed professional.
PANOPT reads public news, official publications and posts from public accounts, scores them with automated systems (including AI models), and presents them as alerts. Beside them it publishes its own measurements: the Situation Monitor and its readings, built by rule from public instruments such as satellite heat at refineries and terminals, satellite images, radar and optical ship counts at the chokepoints and terminals, aircraft positions and GPS-interference reports, internet and night-light measurements, navigational warnings, airspace notices, sanctions lists and official stock data; the ledgers that set published claims beside those measurements; the wire, stories published unscored with each outlet listed and linked; the morning and evening briefs and digests; and a weekly physical-flows brief. Outputs are generated automatically, can be wrong, late, or incomplete, and may be revised or corrected after publication — corrections are shown in the app. Prices come from third-party data vendors, may be delayed, and may differ from the exchange's official prices. They are shown to you under the vendor's licence, for your own information: you may not copy, redistribute or resell them. Where PANOPT shows a simulated trading account, its figures are hypothetical performance: they do not represent real trading, do not reflect all real-world costs and market conditions, and are not indicative of future performance. It is not a model portfolio and is not something to copy or follow. These terms cover PANOPT's output wherever we publish it, including push notifications, email, and PANOPT's own social media accounts, such as @Pan_Opt on X.
Every instrument has gaps. A satellite may not have passed, cloud or night may have hidden a site, a feed may be late, and some sensors cannot reach some waters or places at all. Where an instrument cannot see, PANOPT says so, and a blank is not a clean reading: no detection is not evidence that nothing happened. Counts and states are judged against each place's own history and can change as more data arrives. A reading says what was measured; it does not say who caused it or why. Sanctions designations shown in PANOPT are the acts of the authority that lists them, such as OFAC, the UK or the EU; PANOPT shows them as published and does not make or assess designations. When PANOPT matches a listed vessel to a ship position, the match rests on the identifiers in the list and in the ship's own broadcast, and it is not an allegation by PANOPT.
PANOPT is built on outside sources: news outlets, posts on X and Bluesky, satellites, government and official feeds, and market-data vendors. Any of them can change its terms, its coverage or its price, or stop, and we may then drop, replace or limit it, sometimes without notice. PANOPT's sources and their licences are listed at panopt.online/sources. If losing a source takes away a main part of what your plan offers, we will tell you, and you can cancel; on a yearly plan we then refund the unused part of your year, pro rata.
Headlines, stories and posts shown in PANOPT belong to their authors and publishers. PANOPT links to them and shows short extracts; it does not adopt them. The grade PANOPT puts on a reading, story or post (Measured, Official, Reported, Claimed or Indicated) says how the item is known. It is not an endorsement of the item or its author, and a graded item can still be wrong.
Posts from X and Bluesky are their authors' words. PANOPT shows a post with its author's name, handle and picture, linked to the author and to the original post, and does not change its text; a headline PANOPT writes about a post is shown as PANOPT's, apart from the post. PANOPT removes a post when its author deletes it or makes it private, when the platform suspends the account, or when the platform asks. Your use of X content is also subject to X's own terms.
You agree not to treat any PANOPT output — alerts, scores, verification labels, readings, briefs, market leans, technical reads, conviction scores, support and resistance levels, the simulated account, or anything else — as the basis for any trading or investment decision. Any decision you make in any market is made solely on your own judgment and at your own risk.
You are responsible for your login credentials and for activity under your account. One account per person; don't share, resell, or redistribute PANOPT content or data feeds without written permission, except as the Data files and Open data sections below allow. You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. If we close a paid account for any other reason, or stop offering PANOPT, we refund the unused part of the period you paid for.
Signed-in readers can send PANOPT a report or a source for a situation (a link, a note and, if they choose, a place) and can mark a box on a satellite view with a note. You keep whatever rights you have in what you send. You give PANOPT a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store it, show it to other readers without your name, and adapt it for display (for example, grouping marks into a grid) for as long as PANOPT holds it. Send only what you have the right to share. Do not send anything unlawful, defamatory or infringing, or anyone's private information. What you send is shown as a reader's claim, not as fact, and PANOPT may review, hide or remove it at any time. What you sent is deleted with your account. To report a contribution or any other content you believe is unlawful or infringes your rights, email admin@panopt.online with the page and the reason.
We send email about your account: signing in, confirming your address and resetting your password. If you buy Pro, receipts and renewal reminders come from Link or Stripe. We send marketing email (news about PANOPT, such as the weekly ledgers) only if you ticked the box at sign-up or turned it on in Settings. Each one says it is from PANOPT (Joe Hedger, trading as Panopt Alpha) and how to unsubscribe. You can unsubscribe at any time, in Settings or from the email itself, and we act on it within five working days. Unsubscribing does not change your account or your plan.
Free is US$0. Pro is US$39 a month, or US$390 a year. Team is US$29 a person a month, billed yearly (US$348 a seat a year), for 3 people or more. Institutional plans are priced by written agreement. The pricing page sets out what each plan includes. Prices are in US dollars. Checkout may show the price in your local currency, and it shows any sales tax, VAT or GST that applies where you live: you see the total before you pay.
Founding offer: the first 100 yearly members pay US$290 a year for as long as they renew. It works like this:
Pro renews automatically each month (or year) until you cancel. Each renewal charges the payment method you paid with, at the same price, unless we have told you of a new price under Changes. You can cancel at any time in Settings → Manage subscription (Stripe's billing portal) or, where Link sold you the plan, in your Link account at link.com. When you cancel, Pro stays on until the end of the period you have paid for, and you are not charged again. Deleting your account ends Pro at once and cancels its renewal, so cancel first if you want to keep Pro to the end of the period.
Card payments are processed by Stripe. Where Stripe's Managed Payments service applies (Pro bought at PANOPT's checkout), Link (Sold through Link, LLC, a Stripe company) is the merchant of record for that sale. The charge then shows on your statement as LINK.COM* with our name, Link sends your receipt and handles the sales tax, VAT or GST on the sale in the countries its service covers, Link's support can help with the payment itself, and Link's Sold through Link Terms apply to the payment. We are still the seller of PANOPT: these terms cover the service, and help with PANOPT itself comes from us at support@panopt.online.
Team is sold by invoice from us, billed yearly in advance. Stripe processes the payment of an invoice; Link is not the merchant of record for it. A Team year renews when you pay the next year's invoice, which we send before the year ends; if it is not paid, the seats end with the year. Team and Institutional plans are sold to a government body, or for a government's use, only by written agreement.
When you cancel, you keep your plan to the end of the period you paid for, and we do not refund the rest of that period, except in these cases:
Where Link was the merchant of record, Link may also refund a payment under its own refund policy, which applies alongside ours and can give you more. To ask for a refund, email support@panopt.online.
If you are a consumer under the Australian Consumer Law, our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded. For a major failure, you can cancel and get a refund for the unused part, or compensation for its drop in value. For a failure that is not major, you are entitled to have it fixed in a reasonable time and, if it is not, to cancel and get a refund for the unused part. Nothing in these terms limits those rights, or your rights under the consumer laws of the country where you live.
Paid plans can download PANOPT's data files, such as the Chokepoint Ledger and Strike Ledger tables, the radar archive and the plant heat record. They come under a subscriber licence, not an open licence. Unless a written agreement says otherwise, we license Pro files to you for your own use, and Team files to the named members of your team, inside your organisation. You may quote single figures with the credit "PANOPT (panopt.online)". You may not republish, share or resell a file, or a substantial part of one. Institutional licences, including use in your own products, are set by written agreement.
The subscriber licence does not take away rights you have under another licence. The figures PANOPT shows on its public ledger pages stay under CC BY 4.0 there (see Open data), and open data in a file keeps its own licence. Figures in a file that come from someone else (a government, a company, a news outlet, a ship-tracking firm) belong to them. Each file names its sources, and our licence does not extend to them. Posts from X never appear in files.
Some of what PANOPT shows is made from open data whose licences give you rights of your own: OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, Open Database Licence 1.0), adsb.lol (Open Database Licence 1.0), Wikipedia's conflict maps (CC BY-SA 4.0), Copernicus Sentinel data, and public-sector data under CC BY and similar licences. Each is credited where it appears and listed at panopt.online/sources. Nothing in these terms restricts what those licences allow you to do with that data. Where PANOPT adapts a share-alike dataset, the adapted version is offered under the same licence: the plant and terminal locations, for example, are a free download under the Open Database Licence. The figures PANOPT shows on its public ledger pages (the Chokepoint Ledger at panopt.online/ledger, /hormuz and /bab-el-mandeb, and the Strike Ledger at /strikes) are offered under CC BY 4.0 there, as each page says, with the credit shown beside them. That licence covers those figures as the pages show them; the paid data files are under the subscriber licence above.
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, including availability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for trading losses or any indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including the Australian Consumer Law.
We may change these terms, or the price of a plan. For a change that is material, or that is to your disadvantage, we will tell you by email and in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect, and say what changes. If you do not want the change, you can cancel before it takes effect; on a yearly plan we then refund the unused part of your year, pro rata. A new price applies from your first renewal after it takes effect. Other changes (clearer wording, a new contact address) take effect when we publish them. Each version of these terms is dated, and earlier versions are available from admin@panopt.online.
These terms are governed by the law of the Northern Territory, Australia, and you and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, or your right to bring a claim in its courts.
